1. The Melodrama has three acts corresponding to three crucial times in the interrelated lives of ALEX, CAM and BOO. In each act your avatar will play a different role. Love, compassion, repulsion and depression are explored as your avatar serially steps into the mind of each character.
2. Beginners should find a partner and schedule a face to face or video chat improvisation session. Allow about 45 minutes for your session. More advanced folk may like to play all roles themselves using two avatars.
3. Before your session download script material: AEWMelodrama_act1 … AEWMelodrama_act2 … AEWMelodrama_act3. DO NOT READ.
4. At the start of your session decide which role you will each play in ACT 1. Make a note of your character for ACT 2 and ACT 3.

5. Start Improvisation. Read the preamble to ACT 1 and description of your character. Skim the starter script for ACT 1. PLEASE DO NOT READ FURTHER.
6. ACT 1. If you are meeting face to face, keep your eye-focus on the avatars. If you are using video chat, make sure only your alter egos are visible in the chat window. Act out the starter script. Improvise the ending.
